NEAS+ is a self-administered academic survey that enables individual students to determine their current level of preparation in engineering basic skills subjects.
Junior Engineering Technical Society (JETS)
West Point Bridge Designer
Try your hand at designing a bridge! In conjunction with the 150th Anniversary of ASCE and the 200th Anniversary of West Point in 2002 there will be a national bridge design competition for high school students. Expect information about the competition and learning manuals at high schools by February 2001. The Iowa Section will provide engineer mentors for the competition.
U.S. Military Academy at West Point (USMA)
Future City Competition
This competition for middle school teams involves design of a city using SimCity software. The Eastern Iowa Younger Member Group of Iowa Section ASCE will be working with Iowa middle schools later this year and in early 2002 for the competition.
