Please mark your calendar for Wednesday, September 5, and Thursday, September 6. These are the dates for the 2007 Iowa Section ASCE Annual Conference, which will be held at the Gateway Center in Ames.

This year’s meeting will start on Wednesday with a technical session about the stuff you didn’t learn in engineering school, followed by a golf outing at Veenker Golf Course in Ames, hosted by the Central Iowa Younger Members Group (Click for Flyer/Registration Form). The Annual Conference on Thursday will feature a wide range of topics, including:

Transportation funding and economics
Renovation of Morrill Hall on the ISU campus
Iowa’s role in biofuels
Pervious pavement research
Changes to Iowa landfill regulations
Solutions to bridge approach settlement
Discussion of conflicts on staking responsibilities

Note that the conference will not be held the same week as the UI-ISU football game, and that it will be on Wednesday and Thursday. Please join us for an excellent program that gives a chance to visit with old friends and make new ones. We hope to see you there.
