President: Tyler Anderson, P.E.
Tyler is a Project Engineer for Foth in Johnston, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State University with a BS in civil engineering in 2011 and is a licensed professional engineer in Iowa. Tyler’s professional engineering experience has focused on roadway and utility design and aviation expansion projects throughout Iowa. In his free time, Tyler enjoys spending time on the lake with family wake boarding and surfing. He also enjoys biking, golfing and spending time with his son.
Vice President: Blake Peterson, E.I.
Blake is a civil engineer with Shive-Hattery, Inc. in West Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State University in 2015 with a BS in civil engineering. His professional experience includes design and construction observation for site and water resources projects. He has project experience in the government, education, and commercial sectors. In his free time, Blake enjoys fishing and biking.
Treasurer: Veronica Ramirez, E.I.
Veronica is a Traffic Engineer for Snyder & Associates, Inc. in Ankeny, IA. She earned her B.S. in 2015 from Florida State University in Civil Engineering, and later received her M.S. in 2017 from Auburn University with a focus on Transportation Engineering. Her professional experience focuses on traffic and work zone safety, intelligent transportation systems, and traffic modeling. In her free time, Veronica enjoys spending time with her dog, volunteering, and watching movies.
Secretary: Brian Weiner, E.I.
Brian is a Staff Geotechnical Engineer with Terracon Consultants, Inc. He graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 2013. In 2016 he graduated from Colorado School of Mines with a Master of Science in Geotechnical Engineering. Brian’s professional experience includes analyses for shallow and deep foundation design. Pavement thickness design, slope stability and seepage analysis for earthen dams and slope remediation. He also has experience performing QA/QC testing for reinforced concrete, foundation excavations, and placement of fill. In his free time, he enjoys video games, walking the local trails, and relaxing at home with his family and pets.
Social Chair: Grace Mercado, E.I.
Grace is a Staff Geotechnical Engineer with Terracon Consultants, Inc. She graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Geotechnical/Materials Engineering. Grace’s professional experience includes analyses for shallow and deep foundation designs, pavement thickness design (PCC and ACC), embankment stability and settlement analysis for projects in various sectors. She also has experience in computer-aided design (CAD) work, generating boring profile sheets involving various IDOT projects. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, swimming, hiking, investing, watching movies and spending time with her family and pets.

Adam is a Staff Geotechnical Engineer with Terracon Consultants, Inc. He earned his B.S. in Geology from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota in 2016, and his M.S. in 2018 in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering. His professional experience has included analyses of shallow and deep foundation systems for projects in various industries. Adam enjoys living in downtown Des Moines and spending time with his wife and daughter.
Special Events Chair: Jordan Denman, P.E.
Jordan is a Senior Project Engineer for Calhoun-Burns & Associates, Inc. in West Des Moines, IA. He earned his B.S. in 2011 from Iowa State University in Civil Engineering, shortly after receiving his B.S. in Community and Regional Planning in 2009. Throughout his time with the company, he has been involved in the design of new bridge/culvert construction and bridge rehabilitation projects. Jordan is a nationally certified bridge inspector and is thoroughly involved in the evaluation of in-service structures as well as structural load rating analyses. In his free time, Jordan enjoys working outdoors on his acreage, upland bird hunting with his two German shorthaired pointers and spending quality time with his wife and son.
Past President: Preston Moon, P.E.
Preston is a civil engineer for Primera Engineers in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Iowa State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering and is a licensed professional engineer in in Iowa. His professional experience has focused on roadway design and construction administration. His project experience includes interstate, highways, urban arterial, and local roadway design. In his free time, Preston enjoys travelling, watching movies, and playing softball.
